Totenmond interview
Many people hates them, more of them even don’t know about them, and a very little crew like Totenmond from Baden-Württemberg. I got into touch with them through Myspace, to get a little more closer to this death metal band’s music based up on simple riffs, somewhere doom-kind sapmles, at other places mixed with crust and punk elements. It did not turn out as i thought it could, the new bass guitarist, Senf, answered my questions without hesitation, however Totenmond still writes its albums wrapped itself into anonymity, which we can run into in every 2-3 or 4 years since 1996. Let’s hurry up; go!
Welcome, Senf! At first, thank you for the interview! You are a member of Totenmond since 2002. Why do Roberto Garcia left the band? Was it difficult for him to fit int he band, which is over their third album? Why they chose you, and why called the band Totenmond?

Well, he left the band cause he and mainly Pazzer (i guess) had different views… about the band, the music…. but most important: 2 such huge egomaniacs with no ability to compromise in one band.. that wont work for ever!!!
Then after looking for some new bass-player they finally choose me, cause i dont gave a whank about it! there are a lot of „rockstars” out there… but they were looking for a „member” of the band… a comrade. and a bloke that knows his place and shuts up, i guess!! 🙂 no.. its like i said. we know each other for a long, long time and we are good mates. so instead of looking for wannabe-rockstars they asked me. thats my credibility!
Pazzer and S.P. Senz called the band that way.. its their vision, their idea.. their thing. no need to explain!
Influences are Bryan ferry and roxy music, Misfits, Slayer, country and western, polish black-metal, swedish-hellrock, stoner … and so on, and so on.. we all in the band listen to a big variety of music. influneces from everywhere . From cream to Peter Alexander.
What are the lyrics about, and how much are you known in your country? Could you tell about bands from Germany, who you could be proud of, and who are in friendship with you?
We dont explain the lyrics. never!! think for yourself. and judge for yourself!!
German bands to be proud of?… well…
– Rammstein of course. they really made it. they have a very unique and origin style!!
even if you dont like them.. you have to respect their work!!
– The beatstakes.
– Die ärzte. very funny but also interlectual lyrics and good music!!
– Ever heard of the Scorpions??? … just kidding…
… no, there are a lot of good bands and a lot of good music.. like in any other country… Jenzone pepperone, Ad noctum, Breschdleng, l.myngwal, Gorilla monsoon, Narsaak. just to name a few more…
Friendship?? i guess everybody hates us… especially girls.
What a question… if eveything gets more and more expensive, it surely has some influence on us. with more and more people losing their jobs. it affects us, too. but it doesnt change us. it doesnt change our views and our attitudes…
it kind of proves us right!! you understand?
How old are you, and what do you do besides music? (family, job, hobby, etc)
I’m …. too old, i guess… it get more and more lazy and can only handle ONE drinking-evening per weekend…
But there is al lot we do. some have children and family. some play in other bands and start side-projects some are DJ-ing, reading, literature, and arts… and we all like to whatch a good match of football. football is really a big deal in our lives… and what goes well with foorball? beer!
I mean… when i was a child i used to listen to childrens-songs… and the smurfs…
but if you mean, when i slowly grow up and discovered the fine beauty of music its Misfits!! one of the first bands i ever listened to… and still do!!!
