I haven’t known anything about this strangely named polish band, now i had to submerge in their information lanes, but i hadn’t find much. They formed in 2004 in Olsztyn, and they’ve got their name from the An Extravagance Of Norm starting letters, thus their first album evidently too. Their logo is odd too, because both word has a past in, and the background works are interesting too, theoritically its a work of four man, but the only picture, which can be find on the net, shows three guy. Only one of the members has a „musical past”, he is Isil – he played guitar in a black metal band, Ad Noctum. The material and the polish horde hold a serious paradox in themselves, so this foreshadows something experimental and not common, only meanwhile the black metal conceived in a flask became a trend.

The externals greet us with an average photo manipulation, brushed with dreams, fears and dirt, and roughly the same can be told about this 44 minutes. The sounding is correct, the content is the usual and strong black metal, with deep death metal sounding and experimental solutions. Unfortunately despite the experimenting nothing extra waits for us, the polish quartet reveals the set of the lately Behemoth, Limbonic Art and Satyricon. Slow and fast themes vary, with a little severe athmosphere, with clever melodical and progressive solos, and with harsh and complex drums leaning it to the passing plane – theoritically there are programmed rhytmes, but they sound really live, because of the massive guitars and the rattle-crawing singing. They lyrics are poisined by ateist themes mellowed by hatred, but really serious message doesn’t add to the structural solutions. It’s not original, but nit a bad frigid production, and maybe it is not even unnecessary, however it’s not enough in this form to the rise from the grounds.

I would like to use the word avantgarde, but this material it’s not that muchly experimental, but as it is shown in the title, it deviates from the normal, but not extravagant…. it won’t move very much people, but in their scene they can become known, the question is that, what kind of plans they have…
