Cerebral Fix újrakiadás

A Bastards lemezük után most a Cerebral Fix zenekar Death Erotica című albuma kerül újrakiadásra. Az angol thrash/death metal csapat még 1986-ban alakult Birmingham-ben. A Death Erotica a negyedik és egyben az utolsó lemezük, még 1992-ben jelent meg a Music For Nations kiadónál. Több dalban is hallható vendég ének, a Napalm Death és a Pop Will Eat Itself tagjait hallhatjuk, sőt a csapat akkoriban a Paradise Lost-tal turnézott. Az újrakiadás 9 bónusz dalt – ebből 4 korábbi studió felvétel és 5 vadi új nóta, ezek korábban csak a Products of Disgust boxban voltak elérhetőek, természetesen új a maszter, melyet a legkorszerűbb technikával végeztek, a digipak csomagolású aranyozott lemezhez mindössze 2000 gyüjtő juthat hozzá. Megjelenik február 9-én a Metal Mind gondozásában.

Cerebral Fix újrakiadás

A thrash/death metalt játszó angol Cerebral Fix nem igényel különsebb bemutatást. A 93-as feloszlásukat megelőzően 4 albummal írták be magukat a brit thrash és death metal szcéna nagykönyvébe: “Life Sucks… And Then You Die!” 1988, “Tower of Spite” 1990, “Bastards” 1991, “Death Erotica” 1992). 2006-ban bejelentették az újjáalakulást, 2007-ben a Metal Mind Productions egy Products of Disgust névre keresztelt boxot jelentetett meg, mely a Cerebral Fix teljes fenti diszkográfiáját tartalmazza.

Cerebral Fix reissue

Cerebral Fix – English thrash/death metal band does not need any special introduction. They became members of the UK thrash metal and death metal scenes by releasing four albums (“Life Sucks… And Then You Die!” 1988, “Tower of Spite” 1990, “Bastards” 1991, “Death Erotica” 1992) before disbanding in 1993. In 2006, the band announced its reformation. In 2007 Metal Mind Productions released a box entitled “Products of Disgust” with the complete discography of Cerebral Fix.
And today Metal Mind Productions presents re-release of the album “Bastards”. Celebral Fix‘s third studio album was released in 1991 by Roadrunner Records. It featured a guest vocal performance by Blaze Bayley – at the time with Wolfsbane, but soon to be singer with Iron Maiden – and was promoted during a tour with American death metal band, Obituary. New digipack edition includes 7 bonus tracks taken from the bootleg recorded in London. Digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on golden disc, limited to 2000 copies. The re-issue of “Bastards” will be available on 10th November 2008 in Europe and 20th January 2009 in USA (via MVD).

Bio
Cerebral Fix – English thrash/death metal band formed in Birmingham in 1986 by Simon Forrest on vocals, Gregg Fellows and Tony Warburton on guitars, Adrian Jones on drums and Paul Adams on bass. Thanks to their successful demos „We Need Therapy” and „Product of Disgust” from 1987, the band signed a record deal with an independent label, Vinyl Solution. Soon after that, Paul Adams left the band and formed a band called Reprisal, which later became Benediction. He was replaced by Steve Watson, and the band entered the Loco Studio in South Wales to record their first album „Life Sucks… And Then You Die!” released in 1988. The band promoted this album by touring the UK with bands such as Bolt Thrower, Deviated Instinct, Doom, Electro Hippies, Hellbastard, and Hard-Ons. The album gained further exposure by having several tracks played on the famous BBC Radio 1’s John Peel show. Adrian Jones and Steve Watson left the band in 1989 and ex-Sacrilege members, Frank Healy and Andy Baker, joined the band. A new demo „Tower of Spite” gained an interest of the Roadrunner Records – a well-known record label specializing in heavy metal. To announce the new record deal, Roadrunner Records set up a supporting slot for the band with Sepultura at The Marquee Club in London. In 1990, the second album „Tower of Spite” was released. The DIY skate/thrash/grindcore approach of the previous album had been consigned to history and the band started afresh with an effort which was more composed, both musically and in terms of production quality – as would be expected from a switch to a major label. Two line-up changes – ex-Sacrilege members, Frank Healy and Andy Baker – ensured that the band kept up with the changes technically. To support the album, the band went on tour with Napalm Death. Soon after the tour Andy Baker decided to retire. Kev Frost, known from Metal Messiah, joined the band and they went on to tour Holland. Cerebral Fix’s third album „Bastards” was released in 1991 by Roadrunner Records. It featured a guest vocal performance by Blaze Bayley and was promoted during a tour with American death metal band, Obituary. The band’s fourth and final album to date „Death Erotica” was released in 1992 by the British label Music For Nations. Guest vocals in various tracks were supplied by members of Napalm Death and Pop Will Eat Itself. As a part of the promotion Cerebral Fix toured with doom metal band, Paradise Lost. But soon after, Frank Healy and Gregg Fellows decided to leave the band. Jake Morgan, a Discharge bass player, and the original Cerebral Fix member Steve Watson joined the band for the European leg of the tour with Cancer. Returning to the UK for another tour, Gregg Fellows stepped-in the band and Nicholas Barker of Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth temporarily filled in on drums. The band split up in 1993 but in 2006 announced its reformation. They have an album’s worth of new material, but for now they are waiting for the reception of the new songs. Frank claims that they are interested only in having fun, as they did in the beginning of their career. „It could last a few months or a few years” – says Healy – „Who cares? Cerebral Fix are enjoying it, so join the rollercoaster for a bit!”

In 2007 Metal Mind Productions released a box entitled “Products of Disgust” with the complete discography of Cerebral Fix. Box consist of 4 CDs (all with bonus tracks: demo, unreleased and live tracks), a 32-page booklet with full band history and 4 premiere tracks recorded exclusively for this box!! Special 4 CD edition was limited to 2000 numerated copies.
