Május 10-én Under The Witching Cross címmel jelenik meg a régisulis speed metalt hedonista black/doom dallamokkal ötvöző Bewitcher második lemeze. A boszorkánykereszt sátánista jogalapján fogant album dalai a Shadow Kingdom kiadó jóvoltából már most végig hallgathatóak.
A 2015 óta létező budapesti grunge, prog-rock, alter-rock Jackie’s Gun zenekart hallgatva olyan bandák jutnak eszünk be, mint a A Perfect Circle, a TOOL, vagy a Leprous. Első anyaguk Cell címmel 2017-ben jelent meg, amit hamarosan megjelenő ALEPH címet viselő lemezük követ. Helios című videójuk új albumuk felvezetője.
„Az egész úgy indult, hogy szerettünk volna egy story line-os klipet, de aztán sajnos abba belebuktunk és rá kellett jönnünk, hogy ez nem olyan egyszerű, így maradtunk annál az ötletnél, hogy készítsünk egy image klipet. Lementünk a csepeli néhány négyzetméteres próbatermünkbe, szétpakoltunk az egész termet, levittünk egy füstgépet és egyetlen egy lámpát. A cél az volt, hogy imitáljunk egy tűző napot.„

Június 28-án VI címmel érkezik az New Zealand-i heavy stoner / sludge metalos Beastwars új lemeze. A csapat énekese Matthew Hyde egy hosszas kemoterápia után ált újra mikrofon elé, a lemez viharos hangulata az ő betegségét és gyógyulását állítja középpontba.
„Matt betegsége meglehetősen megviselte, de még jobban össze is kovácsolta a zenekart. Matt jól reagált a kezelésekre, és úgy gondoltuk ezt a nehéz időszakot zenébe kell, hogy öntsük. Kemoterápiás kezelése után bementünk a Blue Barn stúdióban 10 nap alatt vettünk fel új lemezt. Betegsége megérintette életünket, zenénket, de örömmel és büszkén mutatjuk be új IV albumunkat.”

A Death Kvlt Productions kiadásában jelent meg a brit black metalos Thy Dying Light eddigi anyagait összefoglaló szettje Cumbrian Black Metal címmel, amelyen a 2016 óta működő éjfekete duó eddigi demóit, EP-it, valamint plakát és egyén meglepetéseit tartalmaz.
Mana címmel május 10-én jelenik meg a klasszikus heavy metalt, dark/love metal hatásaival ötvöző Portland-i Idle Hands első nagylemeze. A csapatot a Spellcaster egykori basszusgitárosa, szövegírója Gabriel Franco hozta össze 2017 nyarán. Lemezükről újabb előzetesként Dragon, Why Do You Cry? dalukkal lehet ismerkedni.
A csapat az album kiadása után négy nappal, május 14-én, Budapesten is fellép a Robotban, ahol is egy ingyenes buli keretében mutatják be új lemezüket.
Korábban már bemutattuk a melankolikus funeral doom metalt játszó Clouds tavaly novemberben kijött harmadik albuma a Dor bonusz korongját, amelyhez most egy újabb dalt tettek közzé. I Fear The Light dalukban a Pantheist énekese, Kostas Panagiotou szerepel.
