2025. február 28-án a Heavy Psych Sounds Records kiadásában jelenik meg a dél-amerikai doom/sludge metalos Ocultum vadonatúj albuma Buena Muerte címmel. A lemez, ahogyan azt sokatmondó címe is mutatja a halált, mint központi témát tárja fel. Kedvcsinálóként máris itt van a közel 12 perc hosszú riff-dagonyát adó Last Weed on Earth című daluk.

December 21-én Exiled from Light címmel jelent meg a hazai underground black metalos Feretrum új nagylemeze. A Nagykanizsai zenekarnak ez a harmadik nagylemeze, amire hat vadonatúj dalt került fel, valamivel több mint 35 percben. A lemez Abyssal Revival dalához friss videó is készült.
Az alább teljes egészében végig hallgatható lemezen két vendég zenész is szerepel. My Dark Journey című daluk billentyűs bevezetőjét Sipos Balázs (ScareCr0w) írta és játszotta fel, a női-éneket pedig Csányi-Molnár Mária szolgáltatja a Dreamgrave zenekarból.
A Lovecraft univerzumából inspirálódó extrém metal vonalas The Great Old Ones január 24-én a Season of Mist gondozásában Kadath címmel jelenteti meg ötödik albumát.
„Tizenöt év forrongó tevékenység, négy teljes hosszúságú albummal a hátunk mögött folytatjuk Lovercaft legpszichedelikusabb és legbizarrabb Dream Cycle-én (Álomciklus) alapuló koncepciónkat. A kanadai sci-fi prog-metalos Mad Parish január 31-én adja ki új albumát The Dust of Forever címmel. Az anyagról elsőként Bishop’s Tomb daluk videója került bemutatásra.
Az album egy epikus hangsávon keresztül szól, és Joe, a főszereplő történetét követi. Mind erről így beszélt a zenekar:
„Az album eltér az eddigi hangzásunktól. Mondhatjuk úgy is, hogy kibővítettük első album elemeit. Ez egy teljes koncepciójú album, amely a történeten keresztül egy másik univerzumba repíti a hallgatót, és lehetővé teszi új szempontok, dimenziók felfedezését az ismételt hangok és az új hatású textúrák rétegződéséből adódóan.”
